Lord (Kurios)

“nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” [Romans 8:39 ESV]

“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” [Romans 10:9 ESV]

κύριος :kyrios

1. he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master, lord

   1. the possessor and disposer of a thing

      1. the owner; one who has control of the person, the master

      2. in the state: the sovereign, prince, chief, the Roman emperor

   2. is a title of honour expressive of respect and reverence, with which servants greet their master

   3. this title is given to: God, the Messiah
